Paste a column from Excel or Google Sheets. Add | and a second text to change the reason for one person: Anna Müller | for 10 years of service
Making the PDF…
About the certificate generator
Teachers, coaches, event organisers and HR teams often need the same certificate for many people: every student in a class, every runner in a race, every person who finished a course.
Making them one by one in Word takes an evening, and a typo in one name is easy to miss. Here you paste the list once and get one PDF with a certificate for every name, each on its own page, ready to print or to send.
How to use it
- Paste your list of names, one per line — or paste a column straight from Excel
- Type the title, the line above the name and the reason
- Add the date and one or two signatures (name, role)
- Pick a style, a colour and the paper (A4 or US Letter)
- Check the live preview, then click Download PDF or Print
Three styles
- Classic — a double border with small corner marks and an elegant serif font. The traditional look for awards, diplomas and school certificates
- Modern — a solid colour band down the left side and a clean sans-serif font. Good for courses, workshops and company training
- Simple — one thin grey border and very little ink. Best when you print many pages, or on coloured or decorated paper
Each style comes in navy, gold, green, red or black. All certificates are landscape, the usual format for certificates.
A different reason for one person
Most certificates share one reason, like "for completing the First Aid course". When one person needs a different text, add it after a | on their line:
- Anna Müller | for 10 years of service
- Ben Carter | for the best final project
Everyone else keeps the reason from the Reason box.
Ideas for the title
- Certificate of Achievement — awards and special results
- Certificate of Completion — courses, training and workshops
- Certificate of Participation — events, competitions, camps
- Certificate of Appreciation — volunteers, sponsors, staff
- Award of Excellence or Employee of the Month — workplaces
Everything happens on your device
The PDF is made inside your browser. Your list of names is never uploaded — useful for schools and companies that handle personal data. There is no sign-up, no watermark and no limit on how often you use it.
Names in Chinese, Japanese and Korean print correctly too, even mixed with Latin names in one list.
What people use it for
- Schools — a certificate for every pupil at the end of the year
- Courses and training — completion certificates for all participants
- Sports and races — finisher and participation certificates
- Events and competitions — certificates for winners and entrants
- Companies — appreciation and employee awards
- Clubs and volunteers — thank-you certificates
Frequently asked questions
How do I make many certificates at once?
Paste the list of names into the Names box, one per line. The tool makes one certificate per name, each on its own page, all in a single PDF that you can print or download.
Can I make certificates from an Excel list?
Yes. Select the column of names in Excel or Google Sheets, copy it, and paste it into the Names box. Each cell becomes one certificate.
Can I send each person their own certificate?
The download is one PDF with one page per person. To send each person their own file, split it with Split PDF, which can save every page as a separate PDF.
Is the certificate generator free?
Yes. There is no sign-up, no watermark and no limit. The web address at the bottom is off by default.
Will it print correctly?
Yes. The PDF is set to print at actual size on A4 or US Letter, landscape. Choose the same paper in your printer settings and print at 100%.
Good to know
- Up to 500 names per PDF
- A very long name or title gets smaller automatically so it always fits on one line
- The preview shows the first pages; the PDF always contains every name
- For thick card paper, check your printer's paper setting before printing many pages
