This policy explains what happens to your information when you use AppAndTools.com. We have tried to write it in plain language rather than legal boilerplate.
The short version
- Your files never reach us. Almost every tool on this site runs entirely inside your browser. Images, videos, audio, PDFs and text are processed on your own device and are never uploaded to a server.
- We do not ask you to register. There are no accounts, so we hold no names, passwords or profiles.
- We do use Google for adverts and visitor statistics, and those services set cookies. That part is explained in full below.
Information we do not collect
We do not collect, store, transmit or have any way of seeing:
- The files you open in a tool — pictures, video, audio, documents or text
- Anything you type into a tool, such as a CV, an invoice or a note
- Your name, address, phone number or payment details — we never ask for them
When a tool shows the green "100% private" badge, it means every step of that tool runs on your device.
Information stored on your own device
Some tools remember your work or your settings so you do not lose them when you close the tab. This uses your browser's local storage. That data stays in your browser, is never sent anywhere, and you can erase it at any time by clearing your browsing data. Examples include the timesheet in the Work Hours Calculator and the answers in the Resume Builder.
Advertising (Google AdSense)
This site is free to use and is paid for by advertising. We use Google AdSense to show adverts on the tool pages. The app pages carry no adverts.
- Google is a third-party vendor and uses cookies to serve adverts on this site.
- Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve adverts to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the internet.
- Third-party vendors and ad networks may also serve adverts on this site and may themselves use cookies.
You can turn off personalised advertising at any time in Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of a third-party vendor's use of cookies for personalised advertising at aboutads.info or the NAI opt-out page. More detail is in Google's advertising policy.
Visitor statistics (Google Analytics)
We use Google Analytics 4 to count visits and see which tools are used, so we know what to improve. It records things like the page visited, roughly where in the world you are, the type of device and browser, and the site you arrived from. It does not tell us who you are, and it never sees the contents of a tool. Google's own explanation is on their privacy page.
Other services this site loads
- Google Fonts — for the typefaces used across the site.
- Cloudflare CDN — for the icon set and, for a few tools, the processing engine that runs inside your browser.
Loading a file from these services means your browser makes a request to them, so they receive your IP address, as happens with any resource on the web.
Cookies, and how to refuse them
We set no cookies of our own. The cookies on this site come from Google, for the advertising and statistics described above. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time. The tools themselves will keep working — cookies are not needed for them to run.
If you are in Europe or the United Kingdom
Where the law requires it, a consent message is shown before personalised advertising cookies are set, and you can change or withdraw your choice at any time. Under the GDPR you may ask us what data we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, or object to how it is used. Because we hold no accounts and no uploaded files, in practice there is very little for us to hold — but write to support@appandtools.com and we will answer.
If you are in California
We do not sell personal information as the CCPA defines it. You may still ask what is collected and ask for it to be deleted, using the same email address.
Children
This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will remove it.
Links to other sites
Some pages link to app stores and other websites. Once you follow such a link, that site's own privacy policy applies. We are not responsible for their content or their practices.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the new version appears on this page and the date at the top is updated. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept it.
