A line ending in a colon, like Table 1: or Family:, starts a new table. Without those, names are shared out by the number of seats.

About the seating chart maker
Who sits where is one of the last big jobs before a wedding, a gala dinner, a party or a conference. In a classroom, it is the first job of the school year. A clear, printed seating chart saves a lot of questions on the day.
Type your names, choose round tables, long tables or classroom desks, and the chart is drawn for you — every table with its name and every guest at a seat. For events, the tool also makes an A–Z guest list that shows each person's table, for the board at the entrance.
What you see on the right is the PDF itself. Download it, or print it straight away.
How to use it
- Choose Round tables, Long tables or Classroom desks
- Type a title, like your names and the date, or the class name
- Type the names, one per line — start each table with a line like Table 1:
- Set the seats per table (or the desks in a row for a classroom)
- Choose the paper, the orientation and a colour
- Click Download PDF or Print
Writing the guest list
- One name per line. Couples can share a line ("Anna & Ben") or have one line each.
- A line that ends with a colon starts a table. For example Table 1:, Head table: or Bride's family:. The text before the colon becomes the table's name.
- No table lines? Then the names are shared out by Seats per table: the first 8 at Table 1, the next 8 at Table 2, and so on.
- Seats per table also sets how many places are drawn. A table with fewer guests shows the empty seats, so you can see where there is still room.
- Shuffle the names mixes the names inside each table — handy for a new classroom plan. Sort A–Z puts them in alphabetical order.
The three layouts
- Round tables — the classic wedding and banquet plan. The table name is in the middle; guests sit around it.
- Long tables — for long banquet tables, family-style dinners and conference rows. Guests are listed down both sides.
- Classroom desks — a grid of desks, filled row by row from the front, with "Front of the room" at the top. Choose how many desks are in a row.

Frequently asked questions

Choose Round tables, type each table as a line like "Table 1:" followed by its guests, one per line, and add your names as the title. Choose landscape for a big entrance board, then download the PDF.
How do I print it big, for a poster?
Download the PDF and print it at a print shop at A3, A2 or larger. The chart is made of real lines and text, so it stays sharp at any size.

Yes. Tick Add an A–Z guest list: an extra page lists every guest in alphabetical order with their table next to the name.
Can I make a classroom seating chart?
Yes. Choose Classroom desks, type the students' names and set how many desks are in a row. Use Shuffle the names for a new random plan.
Is my guest list uploaded?
