About the Hebrew keyboard

Hebrew is written right to left with 22 letters, five of which have a special final form at the end of a word (ך ם ן ף ץ). Typing them needs a Hebrew keyboard — or this page.

Click the letters on screen, or type on your normal keyboard: each key gives the Hebrew letter in the same place on a standard Israeli keyboard, and the text box writes right to left.

How to use it

  • Click the letters on the on-screen keyboard, or type on your own keyboard — E gives ק, R gives ר, T gives א… No need to click the text box first, and the matching on-screen key lights up
  • The text flows right to left, as Hebrew should
  • The final letters have their own keys: ך (L), ם (O), ן (I), ף (;), ץ (.)
  • Shift gives English capital letters, as on an Israeli keyboard
  • Click Copy and paste the text anywhere, or Search Google / Translate straight away

Where the letters are

  • Top row: / ' ק ר א ט ו ן ם פ
  • Middle row: ש ד ג כ ע י ח ל ך ף
  • Bottom row: ז ס ב ה נ מ צ ת ץ

This is the standard Israeli (SI-1452) layout used on keyboards in Israel. Each key also shows the English letter in the same place, so you can learn the layout as you type.

Final letters

Five letters change shape at the end of a word: כ → ך, מ → ם, נ → ן, פ → ף, צ → ץ. Type the final form when the letter is the last one in a word — for example שלום ends with ם.

ך is on L, ם on O, ן on I, ף on ; and ץ on the . key.

Not with this keyboard — it has the letters of everyday Hebrew, which is written without nikud.

Nothing is uploaded. Your text is kept only in this browser.
