About Sped Up Audio

This free tool makes the sped up version of a song — the fast, high, bright sound of so many TikTok, Reels and YouTube edits. Drop in a song, pick a preset, and press Play. You hear the result at once.

The song plays faster, so it also sounds higher, like a record turning too fast. That is the "sped up" sound, and the same idea as nightcore. The default is 1.25×, the speed most sped up songs use. You can go from 1.05× to 1.6× and add a light reverb if you like.

Everything happens in your browser. Your song is never uploaded.

Features

  • Five presets — Sped up, A little faster, Nightcore, Chipmunk-light and Sped up + reverb
  • Speed from 1.05× to 1.60× — speed and pitch go up together, the real sped up sound
  • Live preview — change the speed while the song plays and hear it at once
  • Optional reverb — off by default; turn it on for a softer, roomier sound
  • The page shows the new length and how many semitones higher it is
  • Clipping guard — if the reverb makes it too loud, the volume is turned down a little so it does not distort
  • MP3 or WAV — MP3 from 128 to 320 kbps, or lossless WAV, with one-click download
  • Private — no upload, no sign-up, no watermark

The presets

PresetSpeed and pitchSound
Sped up1.25×, about 4 semitones higherthe usual TikTok sped up song
A little faster1.12×, about 2 semitones highermore energy, voice still natural
Nightcore1.30×, about 4.5 semitones higherfast, bright, high voice
Chipmunk-light1.50×, 7 semitones highera funny, cartoon-like voice
Sped up + reverb1.25×, about 4 semitones highersped up with a soft room around it (20 % reverb)

A preset only sets the sliders. Move any slider after that to make it your own.

Speed, pitch and length

When you speed up a song like a record, every note goes up too. Here is what each speed does to a 3-minute song:

SpeedPitch changeA 3:00 song becomes
1.05×+0.8 semitones2:51
1.12×+2.0 semitones2:41
1.25×+3.9 semitones2:24
1.30×+4.5 semitones2:18
1.50×+7.0 semitones2:00
1.60×+8.1 semitones1:52

12 semitones is one octave. At 1.25× a voice sounds clearly younger and brighter, and at 1.5× most voices sound like a cartoon.

Nightcore is a style that started in Norway in the early 2000s: a song sped up by about 20–35 %, with the pitch going up. The Nightcore preset here is 1.30×. "Sped up" songs on TikTok use the same sound, often a bit slower, around 1.2–1.3×.

A short note on rights: a sped up song is still the same song. For your own videos, check the rules of the app; many apps have their own licensed sped up versions.

How to use it

  • Drop a song on the box, or click it to choose one
  • Press Play — the Sped up preset (1.25×) is already set
  • Try another preset, or move the Speed slider while you listen
  • Turn up Reverb if you want a softer, roomier sound
  • Choose MP3 or WAV, then press Download

Frequently asked questions

How do I make a sped up song?

Drop the song on this page and press Play. The default speed, 1.25×, is the usual sped up sound. Change it if you like, then press Download to save it as MP3 or WAV.

What speed are sped up songs?

Most are between 1.2× and 1.35×. The Sped up preset uses 1.25×, and Nightcore uses 1.30×.

Why does the voice sound higher?

Because the song plays faster, like a record or a tape. Every note goes up with the speed: 1.25× is about 4 semitones higher. That is the sped up sound. To speed up a song without a higher voice, use the Audio Speed Changer.

What is the difference between sped up and nightcore?

They use the same effect: faster and higher. Nightcore is usually a bit faster (around 1.3×) and is a music style with its own look. Sped up songs on TikTok are often a little slower.

Is what I hear the same as the file I download?

Yes. The preview and the file go through the same effect. When you change a setting, the file is made again in the background, and the Download button comes back when it is ready.

Is my song uploaded?

No. The song is changed by your browser, on your device. Nothing is sent to a server, and there is no watermark.
