About the Handwritten Social Post maker
A handwritten quote stops the scroll in a way a typed one does not. It looks like a person wrote it, because it looks like a *hand* wrote it — uneven letters, a line that drifts, ink that varies.
Type your words, pick the network you are posting to, and you get an image at exactly the size that network wants. No cropping afterwards, no guessing, no sign-up. Everything is drawn in your browser and nothing is uploaded.
The size is the point
Every network serves images at a different shape, and the wrong shape gets cropped — usually straight through your words.
- Instagram, Threads, TikTok — square 1080 × 1080, portrait 1080 × 1350, story or Reel 1080 × 1920
- Facebook and LinkedIn — square 1200 × 1200 for the feed, wide 1200 × 630 for a link image
- X — 1600 × 900

Pick one and the picture is that many pixels. What you download is what you post.
The writing size works itself out
This is the part that makes it different from writing on a page.
A letter can run onto a second sheet. A post cannot. So the writing size is not something you set and hope about — it is solved. The tool searches for the largest size at which your words still fit inside the frame, and uses that.
Type a four-word quote and it comes out big and bold. Paste a paragraph and it steps down to fit. You never get a cut-off line, and you never have to fiddle with a slider to find the size that works.
Fill the frame then trims that back if you want more air around the writing. At 100% the words run right to the margins; around 90% is usually the better-looking answer.
Why it does not look like a font
A font draws the letter a identically every time, on exactly the same line, at exactly the same size. No hand does that, and that is why handwriting fonts always look wrong.
Here each character is drawn on its own with a small shift, a slight rotation, a small change in size and a small change in how dark the ink is — and each line drifts a little above or below where it should be. How untidy controls how much of that you get: zero is a very neat hand, about 35 reads as ordinary handwriting, and 80 or more is someone scribbling in a hurry.
The wobble is worked out from where each character sits rather than from a dice roll, so adding a word does not re-scramble everything you have already written.
Backgrounds
- Plain colours — sticky yellow, white, cream, pale blue, pale pink, pale mint, and two dark ones
- Soft gradients — sunset, ocean, lilac and night
- Paper — ruled or squared, if you want it to look torn out of a notebook
- Nothing at all — a see-through PNG, so you can drop the handwriting straight onto a photo or a video
On the two dark backgrounds and on Night, switch the ink to white or chalk cream, or the writing will not show.
Pin it to the corner
A note looks more like a real object when something is holding it up. Pick a corner decoration and one goes on the top left, the top right, or both:
- A push pin — the flat thumbtack shape, with a coloured grip, a darker cap and a steel spike
- A round drawing pin, the domed kind, with a highlight on the head
- A strip of sticky tape across the very corner, half see-through like the real thing
- A paperclip over the edge
- A star, a heart or a sparkle, if you want decoration rather than realism
Each one is drawn rather than pasted in from a picture file, so it stays sharp whether the post is a 630-pixel link image or a 1920-pixel story, and you can set its colour to anything you like. They sit on top of the writing, the way a pin sits on top of a note.

Good to know
- The handwriting styles are webfonts, so the very first render waits a moment for one to arrive. After that they are cached and it is instant.
- If the writing comes out very small, you have given a short shape a lot of words. Shorten it, or move to a taller size such as the story or the Pinterest pin.
- PNG keeps the picture exactly as you see it and is the one to use for a see-through post. JPG makes a smaller file, and a see-through post is placed on white in it, because JPG cannot hold transparency.
- This is a picture of handwriting, not your handwriting. It is fine for posts and graphics — do not use it to pass work off as hand-written where that is against the rules.
