Make a signature you can drop onto any document. Draw it with a mouse, a finger or a stylus — the stroke is smoothed as you go, so it looks like a pen rather than a shaky trail — or type your name in a handwriting style if you are on a keyboard.

Either way you get a PNG with a see-through background, cropped to the signature itself.

Everything happens in your browser. Your signature is never uploaded, never stored, and never seen by anyone else — which, for a signature, is the part that matters most.

Why the background has to be see-through

This is the thing most signature tools get wrong, and it is worth spelling out.

If your signature comes as a white rectangle with writing on it, then the moment you place it on a contract it covers the signature line, the date next to it, and anything else underneath. It looks pasted on, because it is.

A transparent PNG has no rectangle. Only the ink shows, so it sits on the line the way a real signature does. That is the default here, and the preview is shown on a chequerboard so you can see the transparency is genuinely there.

Good to know

• A typed signature is not the same as your handwriting. It is fine for informal use and email footers; for anything legal, draw it.
• Blue ink is a long-standing convention for showing a signature is an original rather than a photocopy.
• If a form demands a white background, switch it in the Background box — but transparent is the better default everywhere else.
• Signing on a phone or tablet with a finger gives a far more natural result than a mouse.

How to use it

• Choose a tab — *Draw it* or *Type it*
• To draw: sign inside the box with your mouse, finger or stylus. Use Undo last stroke if one letter goes wrong
• To type: enter your name and pick a handwriting style and size
• Set the ink colour and thickness to taste
• Leave Background on See-through unless a form specifically asks for white
• Press Download PNG — the picture is already trimmed tight to your signature, with no empty space around it
