Put a | between the front and the back. A tab works too, so you can paste two columns from a spreadsheet.

About the flashcard maker
Flashcards are one of the best ways to learn words, facts and formulas: look at the front, say the answer, turn the card over. This free tool makes printable flashcards from a simple list. Type one card per line — the front, a |, then the back — and download a PDF to print and cut.
It works in any language. Korean, Japanese and Chinese text is drawn with the right font, so it is just as good for learning 한국어 or 日本語 as for English.
Everything is made in your browser. Nothing is uploaded, and there is no sign-up.
Two ways to print
Print on both sides — the PDF has a page of fronts, then a page of backs, and so on. Print it with two-sided printing turned on. The backs are laid out as a mirror image, so after the printer turns the paper over, each answer lands behind its own question.
- Most printers flip on the long edge — that is the default
- If your backs come out upside down or swapped, choose Short edge and print again
One side, fold in half — no two-sided printer needed. Each card is one row: the front on the left, the back on the right. Cut along the rows, fold each strip along the dashed middle line, and glue or tape it if you like.
Each card has a small number in the corner on both sides. If a number on the back does not match the front, the paper was turned the other way.
Paste from a spreadsheet
Have your words in Excel, Google Sheets or a vocabulary app export? Copy the two columns and paste them into the box. The tab between the columns works just like a |.
