Making the PDF…
About the mandala generator
A mandala is a round pattern that repeats around the centre. Colouring one is calm, slow work — many adults use it to relax, and kids love the big shapes. This generator draws a new mandala on every page, as clean black lines on white paper, ready to colour with pencils, markers or crayons.
Each mandala is built from the centre out in rings. Every ring gets one shape — petals, pointed leaves, arches, a chain of circles, drops, spikes or double petals — and the shape is turned around the centre again and again. The shapes have a white fill, so the lines never cross and every area is a clear space to colour.
Choose the detail, the symmetry, the line weight and the number of pages. Add a title, a frame or a name line if you like. The PDF fits A4 or US Letter.

Which detail for whom?
| Detail | Rings from the centre out | Good for |
|---|---|---|
| For kids — big shapes | 4 | Small kids, crayons and thick markers |
| Easy | 6 | Older kids and a quick, relaxed colouring |
| Medium | 8 | Teens and adults — the default |
| Detailed — for adults | 11 | Fine pens and long, calm sessions |
Symmetry and line weight
The symmetry is how many times the pattern repeats around the circle. Some rings use the number twice, so they have double the shapes.
| Symmetry | Shapes in one ring |
|---|---|
| 6 | 6 or 12 |
| 8 | 8 or 16 |
| 10 | 10 or 20 |
| 12 | 12 or 24 |
| 16 | 16 or 32 |
| Mixed | 8, 10, 12 or 16 — chosen at random for each page |
The line weight sets how thick the black lines are: Thin is 0.6 pt (about 0.21 mm), Normal is 1 pt (about 0.35 mm) and Bold is 1.6 pt (about 0.56 mm). Bold lines are easier for kids to stay inside, and they show well when you colour with dark markers.
Ideas for using mandalas
- A calm break after work or before bed — no screen needed
- A classroom activity for art, maths (symmetry!) or a quiet end of the day
- Party and rainy-day fun — print one page per child with the name line
- A gift: colour one with care, cut it out and put it in a card or a frame
- Practice for colour schemes: try warm colours on one page and cool ones on the next
Frequently asked questions
Is every mandala different?
Yes. Every page in the set has its own pattern, and New mandalas makes a fresh set. Changing the line weight, the title or the paper keeps the same patterns; changing the detail draws new ones.
Which detail should I choose for a child?
For small kids choose For kids — big shapes with Bold lines. It has only 4 rings, so the areas are big and easy to colour.
Can I print mandalas for adults?
Yes. Choose Detailed — for adults. It has 11 rings with many small shapes — good for fine pens and coloured pencils.
Can I print many pages at once?
Yes, up to 20 pages in one PDF. Each page has a new mandala.
Does it use a lot of ink?
No. The pages are black lines on white, with no grey areas. Thin lines use the least ink.
Is it free?
Yes. The mandalas are drawn in your browser, and nothing is uploaded.
