Paste or type your numbers below — the total updates as you type. One number per line by default.
By default each line is one number. Tick Commas or Spaces to also split those. Currency symbols and stray text are ignored, and thousands separators like 1,000 are handled.
About Sum Numbers
This free Sum Numbers tool adds up a list of numbers for you. Paste or type your numbers — one per line — and the total appears instantly as you type. Need a different layout? Tick Commas or Spaces to also split on those, so a line like 10, 20, 30 or 5 8 13 is added up too.
It does the tidying for you: currency symbols ($, €, £), stray text and thousands separators (like 1,000) are ignored, so you can paste straight from a spreadsheet, a bank statement or an invoice. Alongside the sum you also get the count, average, minimum and maximum. Everything runs in your browser — nothing is uploaded.
What you can do with it
- Add up a column of numbers copied from a spreadsheet or a table
- Total a receipt or invoice — paste the prices and get the sum
- Add numbers separated by commas or spaces, not just line by line
- Get the average, min and max of a list at the same time
- Sum messy data — amounts with $, € or commas are cleaned up automatically
Features
- One number per line by default — the simplest way to total a list
- Also split on commas and/or spaces — combine them however your data is laid out
- Sum, count, average, min and max all shown at once
- Tolerant parsing — currency symbols, thousands separators and stray text are ignored
- Copy the total with one tap, and your input is saved in your browser
- 100% in your browser — no sign-up, nothing uploaded
How to use it
- Paste your numbers — one per line
- (Optional) tick Commas or Spaces if your numbers are separated that way instead
- Read the total — the sum updates live, with the count, average, min and max
- Copy the sum with the copy button, or press Clear to start over
