About this tool

Paste a table or upload a spreadsheet, choose a column to group by and a column to measure, and get the totals straight away. It answers the question every list of rows eventually raises: *how much per customer, per region, per month, per category?*

In Excel that means a pivot table or a column of SUMIF formulas. Here it takes two dropdowns. Everything runs in your browser — your data is never uploaded.

Sum, count, average, min and max

Tick as many as you want and they appear side by side as columns:

  • Sum — the total for each group (SUMIF)
  • Count — how many rows are in each group (COUNTIF)
  • Average — the mean of the value column (AVERAGEIF)
  • Min and Max — the smallest and largest value in each group

A Total row is added at the bottom, just as a pivot table would. Sort the result by group name, or by the number itself to see the biggest contributors first.

It reads messy numbers

Real exports are rarely clean. Values like 1,234.56, €1.200, 45% or numbers stored as text are read correctly, and cells that are not numbers at all are simply skipped — the tool tells you how many it ignored, so you can spot a bad column instead of quietly getting a wrong total.

Features

  • Group by any column, measure any other
  • Sum, count, average, min, max — any combination, side by side
  • A Total row, like a pivot table
  • Sort by group name or by result, high to low or low to high
  • Paste from Excel (tab-separated) or upload XLSX, XLS, ODS or CSV
  • Guesses sensible default columns so you often get an answer immediately
  • Copy the result for pasting back into Excel, or download it as a spreadsheet
  • Works fully in your browser — nothing uploaded

Common uses

  • Sales per region, per product or per salesperson from a list of orders
  • Hours per project or per employee from a timesheet export
  • Spend per supplier or per category from an accounting export
  • Count per status — how many tickets are open, closed or pending

How to use it

  • Add your data — paste rows straight from Excel, or upload a spreadsheet
  • Choose Group by — the column with the categories, like Region or Customer
  • Choose the Value column — the numbers to summarise
  • Tick what to show — sum, count, average, min, max
  • Copy or download the result
