Split trip expenses without the maths
On a trip with friends, everyone pays for something: one person books the cabin, another buys the groceries, someone fills the tank. At the end, nobody knows who owes whom. This tool works it out.
Add the people, then each expense — what it was, how much, who paid and who shared it. The tool shows each person's balance: how much they paid, their fair share, and whether they owe money or get money back — like *"Chloe owes $90.00"* and *"Anna gets back $150.00"*.
Send the result as a picture
One person keeps the list — on a phone or a computer, no app and no sign-up. The trip is saved on that device as you type, so it is still there tomorrow.
When it is time to pay, press Download image: you get a clear picture of every person's balance and the full list of expenses, with the trip name, the total and the date. Send it to the group chat — everyone sees at a glance who owes and who gets money back, without opening anything.
Fair splits
- Split by everyone — the usual case: the cost is shared equally
- Only some people — untick anyone who did not take part (the friend who skipped the taxi)
- By shares — a couple counts as 2, a child as 0.5
- Money is counted in whole cents, so the shares always add up to the exact total — no cent lost or invented
- 20 currencies, including ones without cents like yen and won
What people use it for
- Trips and holidays — a city break, a road trip, a ski week, a wedding weekend
- Flatmates — rent extras, cleaning products, internet, shared food
- Couples — who paid for what this month
- Groups and clubs — a team dinner, a birthday present, a festival

Frequently asked questions
How do I split expenses on a trip?
Add everyone in the group, then each expense with who paid and who shared it. The tool adds it all up and shows how much each person owes or gets back.
Is this a free Splitwise alternative?
Yes — for one trip or group at a time, with no app and no account. One person keeps the list, and the result is sent to the group as a picture.
Is my data uploaded anywhere?
No. Everything is worked out in your browser, and the trip is kept only on your own device. Only the people you send the picture to see the result.
What if someone paid for only part of the group?
Untick the people who did not share that expense, or turn on Split by shares to give someone a bigger or smaller part, like 2 for a couple.
Can several people add expenses?
The list lives on one device, so one person keeps it: the others just tell them what they paid. It keeps the list in one place, with no copies that disagree.
Good to know
- Made a mistake? Press the pencil next to an expense to change it
- The trip is saved in this browser on this device — clearing the browser's data removes it, so download the image when the trip is done
- The bars next to each name show at a glance who paid more than their share (green) and who paid less (red)
- Press Start a new trip for the next one; the old one is replaced
