About the cover letter builder
A cover letter is the short letter you send with your resume. It tells the employer which job you want, why you fit and how to reach you. This builder does the layout for you, so you can focus on the words.
Fill in you, the job and your letter. The builder adds today's date, the company's details, a subject line ("Application for the … position"), the greeting and your closing, and puts it all on one page. In the text, {job} and {company} are replaced by the job title and the company name — so you can reuse the same letter for several jobs.
Start from one of three ready examples — Any job, First job or graduate and Career change — and change the words to tell your own story. Choose one of six styles: Classic, Modern, Minimal, Sidebar, Elegant or Compact.
Features

When you open the page, it shows an example for Jordan Lee applying as a Customer Service Assistant at Northwind Foods, with the Any job text. Change every line to your own details before you send it.
The three examples
All three have 3 short paragraphs: why you write, what you bring, and a polite close. With the default job and company filled in:
| Example | Words | Good for |
|---|---|---|
| Any job | 79 | Most jobs, when you have some work experience |
| First job or graduate | 84 | Students, school leavers and new graduates |
| Career change | 86 | Moving into a new type of work |
These examples are short on purpose. Add one or two sentences with real facts about you — a result you are proud of, a skill the job asks for, or why you like this company.
What goes where in the letter
| Part | Where it comes from |
|---|---|

| The company block | Hiring manager's name, Company, Company address |

| Closing and signature | Your Closing (default "Kind regards,") and your name |
Frequently asked questions
How long should a cover letter be?
Keep it to one page. This builder always makes one page. If your text is long, the letter gets a slightly smaller font so it still fits — but a shorter letter is easier to read.
Who should I address the letter to?
If you know the hiring manager's name, type it in Hiring manager's name (optional) and the greeting says "Dear …,". If not, leave it empty and the letter says "Dear Hiring Manager,".
Can I use one letter for many jobs?
Yes. Keep {job} and {company} in your text. When you change the job title and company in the form, the letter changes with them. Still, read it once for each job — a few words about that company help a lot.
Which style should I choose?
Classic fits almost every job. Modern has a colour header with your name, good for creative and young companies. Minimal is quiet and centred, for a very clean look.
Is my information safe?
Yes. The letter is made in your browser. Nothing you type is uploaded — it is saved only in this browser, so you can come back and edit it.
Is it free?
Yes, with no sign-up and no watermark.
Good to know
- Works on phones, tablets and computers
- Send the PDF by email or upload it to the job website
- The web address is never printed on the letter
- Check the spelling of the company name and the manager's name — it matters
