Weekend days and holidays
Working days are Monday to Friday unless you change them — handy for a 6-day week or a Friday/Saturday weekend. Your weekend choice and holiday list are remembered in this browser.
About Business Days Calculator
This Business Days Calculator answers the two questions every office asks about dates:
- How many working days are there between these two dates? — Excel's NETWORKDAYS
- What date is 10 working days from now? — Excel's WORKDAY
Weekends are skipped, and so are any holidays you add. You can pick which days of the week you actually work, so a six-day week or a Friday/Saturday weekend works just as well as Monday to Friday.
What you can do with it
- Work out a deadline — "the report is due 15 working days after the meeting"
- Check a delivery or notice period — "5 business days" turned into a real date
- Count the working days in a month for a timesheet or an invoice
- Plan a project without counting squares on a calendar
- Work out how much notice you have before a contract ends
- Count leave days correctly, with public holidays taken out
Holidays made easy
Type your own dates, one per line — 2026-01-01, 01/01/2026 and 2026-01-01 New Year all work, and anything after the date is treated as a label.
Or pick a country and press Add them to the list. The tool works out that year's holidays for you, including the moving ones:
- United States — the eleven federal holidays, with a Saturday holiday observed on the Friday before and a Sunday one on the Monday after
- United Kingdom — bank holidays, including Good Friday and Easter Monday, and the substitute days when Christmas falls at a weekend
- Canada — statutory holidays, including Victoria Day and Thanksgiving
- Australia — the national holidays, including Anzac Day and the King's Birthday
Features
- Two modes — count the working days between dates, or move a date by working days
- Choose your own working week — any combination of the seven days
- Holiday list you type yourself, or fill from a built-in country list
- Counts both ends, like NETWORKDAYS — or untick it to measure the gap instead
- Full breakdown — calendar days, weekend days, holidays skipped, working weeks and hours at 8 h a day
- Dates the wrong way round? They are swapped for you, and the tool says so
- Your settings are remembered in this browser
- 100% in your browser — nothing is uploaded
