A 25 minutes timer, ready to start
This timer is already set to 25 minutes. Press Start — or the Space bar — and it counts down, then plays an alarm when the time is up. No setting up, no sign-up, nothing to install.
Leave it in a tab while you work: the time left shows in the browser tab, so you can see it from any other tab. Or press Fullscreen to fill the screen with big numbers and a progress bar — handy in a classroom, a kitchen or a meeting room.
What people use a 25 minutes timer for
- The Pomodoro technique: 25 minutes of focused work, then a 5-minute break
- A study session before an exam
- A writing sprint or "word war"
- A cleaning block with music
25 minutes is one "pomodoro", named after the tomato-shaped kitchen timer Francesco Cirillo used in the 1980s.

Frequently asked questions
Does the timer keep running in another tab?
Yes. You can switch tabs or minimize the window; the timer keeps counting and the alarm rings on time. Just do not close this tab.
Will the alarm ring if my computer goes to sleep?
No — a sleeping computer runs nothing. That is why the timer asks the browser to keep the screen on while it counts down.
Is there a timer that repeats work and break times?
Yes — the Pomodoro Timer runs 25-minute work blocks and short breaks one after the other, so you do not have to restart it.
Can I change the alarm sound?
Yes. Open Alarm options and pick a beep, a bell, a digital watch or a gentle chime — you hear it when you choose it. You can also let it ring just once, or keep ringing until you press Stop.
Is it free?
Yes. No sign-up and nothing to install, and it works offline once the page is open.
