About this tool
Speech to Text turns your voice into typed text. Click the microphone, start talking, and your words appear live as you speak — a fast, hands-free way to write notes, messages, essays or captions. When you're done you can edit, copy the text or download it as a .txt file.
The transcription uses your browser's built-in speech recognition, so it runs on your device with nothing uploaded by this page. It supports many languages — just pick yours from the menu before you start.
> Browser support: voice typing works in Chrome and Edge (and other Chromium/WebKit browsers) on desktop and Android. If your browser doesn't support it, you can still type in the box.

Frequently asked questions
Does it work in every browser?
It relies on the browser's speech recognition, which is available in Chrome, Edge and other Chromium/WebKit browsers. In unsupported browsers you can still type in the box.
Is my voice recorded or uploaded?
This page doesn't record or upload anything — transcription is handled by your browser on your device.
Why did it stop listening?
The browser can pause after long silences; the tool restarts automatically while listening is on. Keep the tab open and your mic enabled.
