About the Click Speed Test

This free click speed test measures your CPS — how many clicks per second you can do. Choose how long the test should run, click the big pad, and your score appears the moment the clock runs out.

The clock starts on your first click, so you never lose time getting ready. Your best score for each test length is saved in your browser, so you always have a number to beat.

Everything runs in your browser. Nothing is uploaded.

What is a good CPS score?

Most people land between 5 and 7 clicks per second on a 5-second test with normal clicking. Around 8 to 10 CPS is very fast, and anything above that usually means a special technique:

  • Normal click — one finger on the button, about 4 to 7 CPS
  • Jitter click — tensing the arm so the hand shakes, about 10 to 14 CPS
  • Butterfly click — two fingers on the same button, about 12 to 16 CPS
  • Drag click — dragging a finger across the button, very high but mouse-dependent

Longer tests give lower scores than short ones, because your hand gets tired. That is why the tool saves a separate best score for every test length.

Features

  • Test lengths of 1, 2, 5, 10, 15, 30, 60 and 100 seconds
  • Live clicks, time left and CPS while you play
  • Best score saved for each length, in your browser
  • A rank for your result, from "Slow and steady" to "Insane"
  • Works with a mouse, a trackpad or a touchscreen
  • 100% in your browser — no sign-up, nothing uploaded

Tips for a higher score

  • Rest your wrist on the desk and move only your finger
  • Use a light click — you do not need to press the button all the way down
  • A mouse with a short click travel helps more than a fast hand
  • Warm up with a 5-second test before trying a long one
  • Take a break between tries — tired fingers score lower

How to use it

  • Choose a test length — 5 seconds is the usual one people compare
  • Click the big pad to start the clock
  • Keep clicking as fast as you can until the time runs out
  • Read your CPS and see if it beat your best
  • The pad locks for a moment when time is up, so your last few clicks cannot start a new test by accident
  • Press Reset or click the pad again to try once more
