Animated GIF — watermarked in your browser, never uploaded

Video and audio are processed in your browser by FFmpeg (ffmpeg.wasm), free software under the GPL-2.0-or-later and MIT licenses — licenses & source.

About this tool

GIFs travel. A reaction GIF, a product demo or a short animation you made gets saved and shared again — and your name is lost on the way. This free tool puts your watermark on an animated GIF: your name, your website, your @handle or your logo, on every frame.

It works just like our Add Watermark to Image tool: type the text or pick a logo, choose the size, opacity, rotation and position, or tile it across the whole GIF. The preview plays your GIF with the watermark on top, so you see exactly how it will look while it moves.

Everything happens in your browser — your GIF is never uploaded.

Features

  • Text or logo watermark — a PNG logo with a transparent background works best
  • Every frame is stamped, from the first to the last
  • The timing and the loop are kept — the new GIF plays at the same speed as the old one
  • Transparent GIFs stay transparent
  • Size, opacity and rotation sliders, and nine positions
  • Tile the mark across the whole GIF, with a density slider
  • Live preview on the playing animation
  • No upload, no account, and no extra watermark of ours

Making a watermark that works on a GIF

  • Keep it small and in a corner for GIFs people should enjoy — a bottom-right @handle is the usual choice
  • Tile it for GIFs you want to protect, like a product demo or artwork. A tiled mark is much harder to crop away
  • Opacity 50–70% is easy to read without hiding the animation
  • White text shows on dark GIFs, black on light ones. A logo with its own outline or shadow shows on both
  • GIFs are often small (300–500 pixels wide). A size of 6–10% is usually right; the preview shows it at the real size

Common uses

  • Social media — your @handle on the GIFs you post
  • Product and app demos — your brand on a screen recording made into a GIF
  • Artists and animators — a signature on your work
  • Memes and reaction GIFs you made yourself
  • Shops — a logo on product animations

How to use it

  • Upload a GIF — click the box or drop the file
  • Choose Text and type your watermark, or Logo / image and pick a logo
  • Set the size, opacity, rotation and position, or tile it
  • Watch the preview — it plays the GIF with your watermark
  • Press Add the watermark, then Download GIF

Good to know

  • The first time, the GIF engine (about 30 MB) is downloaded. That happens once per visit
  • A GIF can only hold 256 colours per frame. The new GIF gets a fresh colour palette that includes your watermark's colours, so a coloured logo may look slightly simpler than the original logo file
  • The new GIF is usually about the same size as the original; a tiled watermark makes it a little bigger, because more of every frame changes
  • Very large GIFs (thousands of frames, or full-HD) can be too big for the in-browser engine. A shorter or smaller GIF works best
  • Not every ".gif" is a GIF. Many websites save "GIFs" as animated WebP or MP4 files that keep a .gif name. The tool checks the file and tells you if that is the case. An MP4 can be watermarked with Add Logo to Video
  • Only use watermarks on GIFs you made or have the right to share
